Timothy Lewis Smith, Sr. 77 of Rossville, passed away Tuesday, June 8th, 2021 in a local hospital.
Timothy was born in Chattanooga, TN and lived most of his life in the North Georgia and Chattanooga areas. He was a proud US Navy veteran having served from 1962-1966 and was a 33rd Degree Mason and Shriner. Timothy spent many years in law enforcement serving: on the 13th District Drug Task Force, Chief Deputy of Van Buren County, Homicide Investigator, Chief of Police in Algood, TN, and as a firefighter. Timothy enjoyed spending time with his family, racing “funny” cars, and traveling with his kids. He was truly a “jack of all trades” and is well loved by his friends and family and will be deeply missed.
Timothy was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Mary Smith; sisters, Barbara Davidson and Joyce Gamble; and grandchild, Jamie Smith.
Survivors include his sons: Timothy (Hope) Smith, Jason (Amanda) Smith, and Ryan (Katie) Smith; daughters, Rachel (Cameron) Shadle and Stephanie (Tim) Allen Smith; nineteen grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 16th, 2021 at 12pm in the South Crest Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
