Vannie Johnson

Vannie Johnson, 93, of Chickamauga was reunited in heaven with her husband on Saturday, May 27, 2023.  She lived most of her life in the North Georgia area where she was a member of New Haven Fellowship Church of God. 

Vannie was a homemaker for most of her life.  She loved making a home for her husband and two daughters. She enjoyed sewing and playing in the dirt with her flowers. Vannie also enjoyed camping with her family throughout the years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, William “Bill” Johnson; parents, George and Mamie Merciers; and five brothers, Jim, Fred, Harold, Harvey and George “Buddy” Merciers.

Survivors include her two daughters, DeVonna (Lee) Flora and Loretta (Denny) Beene; two grandchildren, Jinna (Chuck) Gass; Zach (Jenny) Beene; six great-grandchildren, Layla, Jilly, Stella, Beau, Chance and Brooks, three bonus great-grandchildren, Cranston, Cabot (Brittany), Charlee and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 31st at 2:00pm in the South Crest Chapel with the Pastor Jack Sexton officiating.

Internment will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 noon until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
