Velda Brass

Velda Faye Brass, 70, of Rossville, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in a local health care facility.

She was a native and lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was a graduate of Lakeview High School, class of 1964.  Following her undergraduate studies at U.T.C., she received her master’s degree from the University of West Georgia.  Ms. Brass retired from the NWGA Psychoeducational School in Rome, Georgia as an administrator.  She was a member of Church of the Nativity-Episcopal and, prior to her failing health, was active with Daughters of the King.  Her parents, James H. & Rena Stewart Brass preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sister, Sidney Brass; nephew, James W. Brass; several cousins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 10th at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Nativity-Episcopal in Ft. Oglethorpe with Rev. Jason Emerson officiating.  Ms. Brass will be interred in the church columbarium.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour on Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jerry Garner Memorial Garden fund at Church of the Nativity, 1201 Cross Street, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, 30742.
