Vernon B. Headrick

Mr. William Vernon Headrick, 82, of Ringgold, GA passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023 after an extended illness.

Vernon was a member of Fort Oglethorpe First Baptist Church.  He was a lifelong employee of Kickoff Publishing Company, an avid fisherman, and a charter member of Chattanooga Bass Club, having won many of their tournaments along with angler of the year.  Vernon served in the U S National Guard for four years.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Linda Margaret “Susie” Headrick, parents, William Randall and Mattie Mae Headrick, and sister, Mary Francis Gonia.

Vernon is survived by one brother, Randall M. “Randy” Headrick (Danita), one sister, Judy Elaine Sanders (Jerry), and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Vernon’s life will be conducted in the chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory South Crest Chapel on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 11:00 am with the Pastor Dan Mouw officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 9 am until the service hour.  Interment will follow the service at Forest Hills Cemetery, Chattanooga.
