Victor E. Bond, Sr. of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, August 23, 2010 in a local nursing home.

He was an active member, Elder, and Trustee of Hickory Valley Christian Church.  Mr. Bond retired as Chief Pilot for Interstate Life Insurance Company, and served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne. He was also active in the Medal of Honor Museum, and the Chattanooga Fliers Club.

The burial was private.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the Hickory Valley Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Ruth Bond, and son, Ricky Bond.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita Bond of Chattanooga; children, Vic Bond Jr.; Mary Bond Buttram and step-daughter, Priscilla Williams; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; brother, David Bond; sister, Virginia Caldwell, and several nieces and nephews.
