Vincent “Vince” Sparks, 67, of Ft. Oglethorpe passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia area and was a 1970 graduate of Rossville High School. After high school Vince continued his education at Nashville Auto Diesel College receiving a Diesel Specialist Degree. He worked as a mechanic early in his career and went on to manage several Large Trucking Sales and Service Centers. Over the last 15 years, Vince specialized in Heavy Duty Truck Tarping Systems often being called upon for his expert knowledge in large truck mechanics. Vince was of the Baptist faith and his passions in life were spending time with his grandchildren watching them participate in their activities and he hardly ever missed his Wednesday evening poker games. He and his wife loved traveling in their motor home and he recently became a Texas Rangers fan. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Clinton Sparks and Madge Sparks; and sister, Toomie Sparks.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Linda Sparks; five children, Vince Sparks of Franklin, TN, Brad (Mary) Sparks of San Diego, CA, Clint (Anna) Sparks of Phoenix, AZ, Tiffany (Billy) Bice of Ringgold, GA, and Lance (Shauna) Tanner of Ringgold, GA; brother and sisters, Dorothy (Felder) McLaurin, John W. “J.W.” (Mary) Sparks, and Shelva “Bootsie” (Kid) Paradise; nine grandchildren, Dylan Bice, Ansley Bice, Luke Tanner, Grace Sparks, Luke Sparks, Sam Sparks, Taylor Sparks, Emaleigh Tanner, and Levi Tanner; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 12 noon in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Fred Feagan and Reverend Keith Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in the Lakewood South Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
