Wayne “Snake” Gentry, 77 of Rossville, passed away Monday, March 18th, 2019 in a local hospital.
Snake was born and raised in the Rossville area and spent most of his life there. He was proudly self-employed as a flooring installer for many years. Snake loved to fish, camp, and ride his Honda Goldwing with his wife Brenda. He was a vocalist in the Gentry Family Gospel Quartet and a member of Midway Baptist Church in Ringgold.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Gentry; parents, R.J. Gentry, Sr. and Lalia Gentry; brother, R.J. Gentry, Jr.; and sisters, Frances Tindell and Grace Curtis.
Survivors include his sister, Margaret (Jackie) Swanson; son, Scott (Ronda) Gentry; daughter, Melissa Hamilton; step-daughter, Jeanie (David) Lamphere; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday March 22nd at 11am in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Jackie Swanson officiating. A private interment will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery.
