Wencie Vernell (Deal) Jeffery

Wencie Vernell Jeffery, 94, of East Ridge passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018. 

Wencie loved to cook, reading the Bible, sewing, being a Mom and playing women’s basketball at Cohutta High School.  She hit a winning half-court shot at a game.  She enjoyed being around people, especially her customers at K-Mart. 

She was preceded in death by her brother, Tonnis Deal; sisters, Jessie Davies and Shelby Campbell. 

Survivors include three sons, John (Patricia) Jeffery, Jr., William (Diane) Jeffery and Mike (Kelly) Jeffery; daughter, Patricia Konig; sister, Bernice Davies; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 10th, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel, interment follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
