William Dee Gibson “Jr. Gibson,” 80 of Rossville, GA passed away Sunday, January 10th, 2020 in his home.
William was born in Summerville, GA, raised in the Rossville, GA area, and graduated from Kirkman High School. He started working at Red Food Store at 13 years old and continued to work in the supermarket business until he retired after 35 years with Kroger. William enjoyed fishing, camping, watching NASCAR, Atlanta Braves, and the TN Vols. He was of the Baptist faith and had a great sense of humor. William loved to joke and make people smile, he will be deeply missed.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Dee Gibson and Sarah Cantrell; son, Steven Gibson; and brother, Quinton Gibson.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Beverly Gibson; children: Jason (Jenny) Gibson, Becky (Brian) Teague, and Deborah Brogdon; grandchildren: Isaac Gibson, Josh (Kaitlyn) Gibson, Jarrett (Marissa) Gibson, Brandon (Kasey) Cluck, Tyler (Megan) Cluck, and Jeremy Brogdon; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 17th, 2021 at 2pm EST in the South Crest Chapel. Interment will be held Monday, January 18th, 2021 at 10am EST in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
