William "Bill" Blankenship

William "Bill" Blankenship, 77, of Flintstone, GA passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022 at his residence with his family by his side.  

Bill was born in Pikeville, Tennessee to Jess & Hazel Blankenship.

He was a life-long resident of North Georgia/Chattanooga.  Bill retired from Sloan Paper Company after 32 years of service as Warehouse Manager.  He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.  He will always be remembered by his love for food, jokes, pranks and having a nickname for everyone in the family.  He will be dearly missed.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, son, Scott Blankenship; and step-daughter, Samantha Ownby, brothers, Winford and Norman Blankenship.

Survivors include his loving wife Gail McCall Blankenship, son Tim (Debbie) Blankenship, sisters; Jan (Denny) Foster, Diane (Harry) Debord and Nancy Shasteen, step-son, Ronnie Long and step-daughter, Tonya Lomenick, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 pm (CST) at Blankenship Family Cemetery in Pikeville, Tennessee with James DeBord, officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 27th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the South Crest Chapel in Rossville, GA and 11:00 am to 2:00 pm (CST) at the Pikeville Funeral Home.
