William "Bill" H. May

William “Bill” May, CB Handle “Horseshoe”, 75 of Chickamauga, GA passed away Friday March 20th, 2020 in a local healthcare facility.

Bill was born in Detroit, MI but was raised in the Chickamauga, GA area. He was a long haul truck driver for over 20 years and drove a truck locally with Propex for over 28 years. Bill was a member of Shield’s Baptist Church in Chickamauga. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Freemason’s in the Chattanooga Valley and loved to go fishing.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Jean May and his wife Eloise May; parents, Clifford and Margaret May; sister, Barbara Ritchie; and step-son Bruce Barnes.

Survivors include his wife, Gail May; daughters, Margie May Johnson; Kim (Jim) Gower, Granddaughter; Brandy Garganta, two step children; sister, Sandra Faye (Doug) Reeves; three step-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Arlene Moore for her loving and compassionate care of Bill and his wife Gail.

Due to the pandemic in March of 2020, a memorial service will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel.  Visitation will be from 1 – 3 p.m. prior to the funeral.
