Aliene Watkins, 82, of Chattanooga passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017.  She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and had attended Rossville High School.  She had worked as a nurse for many years at several local hospitals as well as the Hamilton County Sherriff’s Department.  Mrs. Watkins was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was attending Crosspointe Church in Ringgold.  She enjoyed Southern Gospel Music and sang with the Uplifters.  Mrs. Watkins loved the Lord and her passions in life were her family, church, and taking care of her animals.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles LeRoy Watkins, Sr.; and her parents, R.E. and Essie Stafford.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles LeRoy Watkins, Jr. and Michelle; granddaughter, Summer Watkins; and her Pomeranian dog, “Baby”.

Graveside services will be held Sunday at 2:30p.m. at the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Pastor Justin Perry officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 11:00a.m.-2:00p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
