Cassie Ellis Owen, 82, of Flintstone, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was a lifelong resident of Flintstone and was a charter member of Gospel Baptist Tabernacle and served as church treasurer.  Mrs. Owen was a homemaker and her passions in life were God, family, and spending time with family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Owen, eight brothers and sisters, and grandsons, Eric Brian Thompson & Joshua Luke Owen.

Survivors include her children, Connie (David) Thompson, Flintstone, and Johnny (Tammi) Owen, Chickamauga; grandchildren, Amy Thompson, Ft. Oglethorpe, Megan, Erica, & Emily Owen, all of Chickamauga; numerous nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. David Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Chickamauga City Cemetery.
