William “Bill” Wattenbarger, 82, of the Burning Bush Community, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at his residence.


A native of Meigs County, Tennessee, Mr. Wattenbarger had lived in the Burning Bush Community for the past 61 years.  He was a 1953 graduate of Kirkman High School and retired in 2000 from Flav-O-Rich Dairies as a route salesman with more than thirty years of service.  He was a member of Heritage Pointe Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and working in his vegetable garden.  Mr. Wattenbarger was preceded in death by his parents, Buck & Hazel Wattenbarger, and infant sister, Susie Wattenbarger.


Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Frances Wattenbarger; sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell & Kim Wattenbarger of Burning Bush, and Bryan & Pam Wattenbarger of Chickamauga; brother, Reed (Wanda) Wattenbarger of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Katie (Tommy) Williford, Brittany (Justin) Race, Stacie, Ashton, & Brad Wattenbarger; great-granddaughter, Jenna Race; nephew, Eddie Wattenbarger.


Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Neal Brown & Chaplain Greg Collins officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 S.E. 1st Street, Suite 808, Miami, FL  33131 or Parkison’

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
