William “Bill” Wattenbarger, 82, of the Burning Bush Community, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018 at his residence.
A native of Meigs County, Tennessee, Mr. Wattenbarger had lived in the Burning Bush Community for the past 61 years. He was a 1953 graduate of Kirkman High School and retired in 2000 from Flav-O-Rich Dairies as a route salesman with more than thirty years of service. He was a member of Heritage Pointe Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and working in his vegetable garden. Mr. Wattenbarger was preceded in death by his parents, Buck & Hazel Wattenbarger, and infant sister, Susie Wattenbarger.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Frances Wattenbarger; sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell & Kim Wattenbarger of Burning Bush, and Bryan & Pam Wattenbarger of Chickamauga; brother, Reed (Wanda) Wattenbarger of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Katie (Tommy) Williford, Brittany (Justin) Race, Stacie, Ashton, & Brad Wattenbarger; great-granddaughter, Jenna Race; nephew, Eddie Wattenbarger.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Neal Brown & Chaplain Greg Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
