Since I was just a little girl, my Daddy took such time & patience selecting my Birthday cards. It was important they convey his true feelings. So often it was as if he had written them himself. I received a card from him, well over a decade ago, it contained a wallet sized, detachable card which read:
DAUGHTER
today and always,
please know that I see you.
I see the path you've made
that's all your own.
I see the many unique
talents and gifts you have to share.
I see your brilliance, your enthusiasm,
and how deeply you care
and hurt sometimes.
I see your hard-earned wisdom,
your soft pure innocence,
your courage and compassion,
your unconditional goodness.
I see what a difference
you make in this this world,
and I hope u know
how very much I Love You,
and how proud I'll always be
to have a daughter
as wonderful as you.
Since that wonderful birthday, I have carried that card with me. Every time I've opened my wallet to pay for gas, put away a lottery ticket or opened my wallet for his grandsons' lunch money that day. I saw that card staring back at me~DAUGHTER
today and always...I knew it was going to be a beautiful day, because I would ALWAYS have you. Whether, in the Heavens or here on Earth, we are a part of one another and I'm lucky to call you DADDY, forever

David and I are sad at hearing that Ed had "left the building". He has - had been a part of my life beginning in my 20's. He taught me about business, loyalty, truthfulness and friendship. He was my friend. Betty, Patty and Kathy, I know you will miss him more than words can express. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
