I send my deepest condolences to Lt Colonel Westbrook's family and friends. I have read through some of these messages and it truly tugs at my heart. I too was in the Air Force and it set the path for my life. For this very accomplished man to have his life end so tragically is so confusing. Alzheimer's is such a powerful silencer and this is proof just how powerful Alzheimer's is in a persons life and family.

Thank you Lt. Colonel Westbrook for serving our country and I know you leave family & friends behind that will miss you so very much.

God Bless you and your Family,
Leon Morales

My sympathy for the loss of Ron. He was my mentor and dedicated towards providing the best possible work at TVA. He was of the highest ethics, had superior knowledge and skills, and was a good friend that truly cared about others.

Although no words can really help to ease the loss you and your families are enduring.
I want to let you know that we are very close in every thought and prayer through this difficult time. We ask that God send his blessings to you during this difficult time. Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, Still loved, still missed and very dear.

I and sons David and John are deeply saddened by the senseless death of their second cousin, Ronnie.
I remember his mother with lasting fondness and worked with his dad building and renewing roofs in Cleveland, Ohio. Ronnie, as we called him, came to visit. Claudia, my wife and his cousin, from Dalton, Georgia, were very impressed with his potential and indeed it led to a successful and creative life. My heartfelt sympathy to his immediate family, Jim Dennis

Aunt Deanne, Mike, Allen, and Jason,
I wish that I had words that could help heal your hearts, but I have none. He was an amazing person and a great uncle. I remember his laughter, and his smile the most. I am still in shock as I can only imagine that you all are as well. I love you all and I miss you all. You are all in my prayers and I pray that somehow everyone can come to peace about this. All my love.....Dawn

To the Westbrook family, we extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers for your family in the days to come! My husband served as a officer under the command of Col Westbrook in the 241st Air National Guard. Ron was most respected and was a great leader to the men and women of the 241st. I worked with Ron at TVA and helped when he was in the ETP program at one time. It was a privelege to know him and work with him! His laughter and smile will be remembered by all who knew him. He will be missed by the retired members of the 241st ANG unit!

To the Westbrook Family:

My husband and I had the honor of serving under Col Westbrook as one of the 241 EIS former Commander's. We both remember Col Westbrook as being not only a strong, fair, and great Commander, but as also being a compassionate and wonderful human being. He was highly respected by all those who served under him and by all those who knew him. He was a man who not only loved his Country, but a man who I know loved life, his family, and his friends.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to your family as you struggle through the grief, sadness, and loss of this very special man - we have all lost someone very, very special!. May your friends comfort you, may your faith uphold you, and may your loving memories heal your hearts.

With heartfelt sympathy - Retired MSgt Anne M. Oakes, and Retired TSgt Jim L. Oakes, jr

Words seldom can express the thoughts that come from the heart but please know that there are so many people who share in your grief. My mother died from the complications of Alzheimer's in 2006. I was her caregiver for the last 10 years of her life so I know a little bit about what your family is going through right now. Praying for God's grace to sustain you in these darkest hours. My heart truly breaks for your family. While I do not know you, I know the torture Alzeheimer's reeks on a person. Several of my family has suffered with it. Hope it somehow brings you comfort in knowing how many people are praying for you during this tragic time. May God wrap each of you in His arms & give you the Grace & Strength you need during this difficult time. Debra Guffey Diffenderfer

I remember Col. Westbrook as the best Commander the 241st EIS in Chattanooga ever had! He treated everyone with respect from Airman to Chief! After his retirement, he came around for family days and air shows. He also came to my MSgt Promotion Party upon my request. I'll never forget a couple of years after his retirement he came to an air show and I got on my knees and begged him to come back and be our Commander! He laughed and laughed. He was always so light hearted! But had a strong presence and when he spoke, people listened. The 241st was very fortunate to have such a strong and well respected leader. I for one am a better person for having know him. My heart goes out to the entire Westbrook family! As you all have lost a loved one, Heaven has gained an Angel! May you all find peace in your memories.

What a beautiful way to remember Col Westbrook Amber! I know the whole Westbrook family appreciates your kind words. Both Jim and I went to the visitation and burial - they were both beautiful ceremonies and rest assured, Col Westbrook's Military Honor's ceremony brought some dignity back to a well-deserved man.

I remember him as Col Westbrook. I was in the 241st EIS Unit from 1988 to 1998, He was there through my years of service. He was a very kind and gracious man, but yet firm in his Col Westbrook style. I am so sorry for your loss. Former SSgt Edna Scott.

Ronald was a fellow graduate of Rossville High School in 1959. Then in the 60's we were members of Oakwood in Chickamauga. I had been playing the piano there and there was no one to play the organ until Ronnie came along. I moved to the organ and he played the piano. I believe that lasted several years. There was never any strife or disagreements and I grew to have a lot of respect for him. He came back later and played in the church band and could do much better than the young guys. But one of the neatest things is that his granddaughter Kim and my granddaughter Lauren are best friends. Our family loves Kim so much and I know how she loves her grandparents. Ron has made this world a better place to live in. I don't know why things happened like they did and I know you are all grief stricken. But rest assured that we are praying for you guys and want everyone to know that he was a man of integrity in world where that doesn't always happen. Deanne and Kim, we love you so much. As I said on my fb page, "we will see you soon".
