Viola Mae Borders, 84, of Henagar, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 in a local hospital.

She was born May 9, 1933 in Shelby, Indiana to the late Nelson & Cora Griggs and had spent the past 40 years in the Chattanooga/north Georgia area.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Joseph Allen Rines and Daniel Kevin Rines and seven brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her children, Debra (Anthony) Martin, Hogansville, GA, Michael (Linda) Rines, Kouts, IN, Janice (Terry) Romine, Sullivan, IL, Rodney (Laurie) Rines, Pisgah, AL, and Karen (Wayne) Waldon, Rossville, GA; twenty-three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 15th at 3:00 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Fred Santana officiating.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
