It is with great sorrow and grief that I heard of Ben's passing. He was one of the most cheerful, caring and loving men I know. He will be sorely missed and my prayers are for Darlene and Kim as they cope with the days ahead without their loved one.

My condolences on the passing of Ben! The Coca-Cola Collectors Club will really miss him! He was always "on duty". guarding stuff and keeping us in line! He was known and cared about from coast to coast and even in the middle of Nebraska! God Bless!

Ben did a lot for me when I was a kid. I will never forget his kindness. He was always helping others in the North Georgia area. Rest in Peace!

Never will forget many years ago when Ben (Santa Claus) came to visit me my niece and nephew for Christmas. He had reindeer on the roof and brought presents. It was a memory I will never forget

So long Cuz. Ben was one of a kind. The kindest and most compassionate soul I know. You knew this just by meeting him. His smile greeted everyone.

The kindness and support that Ben shared, especially for those less fortunate and children, are the measuring stick we should all strive to carry forward. A great man who helped and influenced so many people. "Big Ben" left his imprint on this section of the world and we are all better for it. Thank You both for sharing him with so many of us.

Big Ben or Cuz was the most compassionate soul I know. He always found a way to help in the community. If he knew a family in need, he found help for them. Sometimes the help came from him but the family never knew. He was surely an example for all to follow.

I feel honored to have been among "Big Ben's" many friends. I first met him while working at Chattanooga Glass Company, where I learned we both enjoyed searching for Indian artifacts. At that time he could still get around well and we had some great times slogging around in muddy fields looking for arrowheads. I left the glass company in 1985, but Ben stayed in touch over the years. I'm blessed to have had such a great role model. Ben always had a smile on his face and was always kind and generous. You will be fondly remembered, my friend.

Dear Kim and Darline,

I am so very sorry for your loss, and pray God's comfort and peace surround you.

I met Big Ben when Kim and I had our first sleepover in second grade. He always had a big smile on his face, and loved teasing us through the years. And he absolutely adored his baby girl! I'm thankful to have known him, and grateful for his example and legacy of compassionate community service.

I worked with the Walker County Stocking Full of Love for 14 years . It was in the early years when we would have to stop in the middle of shopping and let Dick Dengler who was our treasurer see how much money we had left and anytime we were in need Dick would say I have someone that will help us out . He didn't want the glory, so not a lot of people knew who Dick was talking about, but it was Mr . Ben ! And many many times he came through for the children of Walker County . He is now getting his reward . Love and prayers for the family . Thank you Mr. Ben and God Speed

Ben was a big part of our lives growing up. He served in the Rossville Lions Club with our Dad Andy Stephens. We had contact with Ben in the Rossville community over the years in many diffrent roles. Ben was always a friend to the whole Stephens family. His jokes and pranks were the subject of many convesations around the dinner table. He will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone that must deal with this loss.

There's so much that could be said about Big Ben. He meant so much to the Community, a dear friend to so many and always looking for ways to help others. He always took time to listen, talk with me and we laughed together . Ben always showed support and love for others. I remember my sons buying socks when they were young for Big Ben to take to the Veterans at the VA Clinic . Our community has lost a dear friend. His friendship will always be treasured..
